Putin has no choice already.
If Putin stops now and makes peace on U.S. terms, he will be torn apart inside the country by two parties - the party of war, which will go all the way till full control of Ukraine and the party of the so-called "Euro-Atlantists" that are widely sponsored by USA.
This means there will be no peace anytime soon.
