Hi Andy,
I was wondering where you learnt the timing of ending diagonals?
Thanks :)
Hi! I was just observing the trends. There is a pattern that I'm currently exploring - if there are three tops (or bottoms) in a trending move (assuming the tops of waves 1-3-5), then the last top very often occurs in the range of 0.618..0.786 of the time it took to form 1-3. This is not always the case, time is very variable and depends on the external events that the market may be waiting for (like the Fed meetings), but i find it reasonable to believe that the conclusive top or bottom in wave 5 is set somewhat faster than the the end of wave 3. This is probably due to the fact that the crowd gains more and more confidence in the trend as we approach its end, and therefore it takes less time to form the last top..
... also note that in that very case of CAC40 top, this was not the final top and we went higher - so the forecast was wrong overall )

Thanks for the explanation.
It's an interesting point, from now on I'll pay attention to it to see how it works.

Precise timing is one of the most difficult things... I recently discovered a book of a guy claiming to be able of timing tops within a 3 day span ( I haven't read it yet, I don't if it's worth it.
