To enter a trade, you need to wait for a signal - a breakout of the neckline.
If the price closes below the neckline after the close above it has been closed, the pattern is invalid.
There are two methods for entering a position
- the first assumes an order to be placed just above the neckline. However, the problem with this approach is that you are exposing yourself to the risk of a false breakout.
- the second method involves waiting for the retest of the neckline and then entering the market. The neckline becomes a resistance level. The second method allows you to get additional confirmation of the recent breakout and set a shorter stop.
Take profit at the nearest key resistance level, where a strong rebound in price can occur. Stop loss should be moved beyond the level of the last pullback.
