The Next Flippening to Watch - Apple vs. Crypto

CRYPTOCAP:TOTAL   Crypto Total Market Cap, $
Lately I've enjoyed watching the Total Market Cap of Crypto vs. the market cap of Apple .

Earlier in the year, you would be surprised to hear, that the total market cap of crypto ACTUALLY surpassed the total market cap of Apple .

That's right... the entire crypto landscape was worth more than Apple for a brief moment.

But why does this matter to me?

Decentralized Exchanges, NFTs, DeFi vs. App Store, Apple Pay, etc etc

Apple is the largest company in the world today and for good reason. They also largely "own" the means of innovation in the sense that their app stores and now payments are the bridges for consumers and builders.

I think of Apple's market cap as a reflection of the entire landscape, of all tech and people building and transacting in a traditional way. I think of the Total Crypto Market Cap in the same way, but instead with a decentralized approach, all building things that are effectively nipping at Apple .

So with that being said, I almost view them as counter parts. One vs. the other. Speculation of the new vs. today's leader.

I currently have no trades on for this and so far believe Apple is actually way more proven and should win for the next few months or years. But, the pace at which crypto is evolving, does offer some insight into how competitive this has become.

Still, crypto has a long way to go and the market has a way of getting ahead of itself. I read the other day that even during the NFT boom there were only 40 ,000 active wallets actually participating. That goes to show the news/media/speculation is slightly over abundant relative to the actual usage today.
