Volatility futures front running.
Trade active: Caveat: My parkfield indicators are still in R&D. The move was strong enough on the 15 minute time frame that it just posted a "sell." It also is posting "buy" alerts at the same time.

I don't think this is the top and the 45 minute time frame is better at detecting tops. So I am letting the trade run. I will update this post with a close when I close, but closing will be more of an art than a science.

As always trade safe.
Trade active: Reduced my position by 50%.

Trying to not outsmart the indicator.

Will let the rest run for an hour and see where we are at the close.

Trade safe
Trade closed manually: Closed rest of position and bought some $18 May puts.

Move not strong enough to roll over the daily indicator to buy, so I am following the 15 minute indictator which has been a correct money maker so far.

Here's another question. The profit factor for this strategy goes off the scale with the 15 minute time. No other time frame comes remotely close. Do you have a theory as to why this might be the case?

The reason is you need different settings for different timeframes. And I am still working out the math on why settings work for each timeframe.
If you believe that the 45 minute chart is better at detecting tops, does TV have the capacity to allow for a hybrid chart, one with entries at the 15 minute time frame and exits at the 45 minute time frame. I know that 's asking a lot, but it would be nice to see the backtest for such a hybrid system.

Not really ... what I have to do is the math and write it out.

I can grab the symbols from the system and not use the symbol on the screen, which then throws out the issue. I just have to try some different things and see what ends up working well in trades. The 15 minute entries are pretty good with the existing code so I posted when it happened.
I'm a vol day trader too, so I will closely follow your post
Thank you very much. This looks incredible.

And pardon my ignorance of how TV works, but how do I keep the data (i.e., the UVXY bars) from disappearing above the chart as I scroll back in time?

Your welcome ...

Drag the scale to the right up and down and it will alter the scale of the chart. Once you have done that you can then drag the chart itself up and down.
