On April 21, ConsensusLab, a decentralized consensus research organization, announced the launch of the first public Interplanetary Consensus (IPC) deployment as part of the Filecoin Spacenet testnet, enabling users, developers and SPs (storage providers) to Experiment with subnets and consensus models provided by the root Filecoin network. IPC allows end users and application developers to dynamically generate hierarchical subnetworks that execute transactions in parallel, thereby removing redundant load from the mainnet while providing operating conditions that better suit application needs. Additionally, IPC provides seamless cross-subnet transactions and mechanisms to secure subnets by leveraging stronger guarantees provided by their parent.
