Selling the Cannabis Bubble (Part 2)

NYSE:ACB   AURORA CANNABIS INC
The pot bubble is going to burst. From the technical perspective we are pulling the trigger here after retracing 61.8% of the initial leg to the downside from the highs. For those who believe in the bearish story for the industry, now is the time to get back to work on the sell-side. More and more funds with large central books are starting to open up positions writing upside vol from here onwards. The easier play in this field is to just short the common stock with targets at the bottom of the range.

The drug although very safe does not have any reasonable medical benefits. Obviously we have the lifestyle/recreational benefit but not any obvious health benefit other than epileptic syndromes. I do think it has some analgesic properties but these have to be understood through more clinical trials and et... to put simply we need more robust toxicology and clinical understanding here before any further upside is unlocked.

Best of luck those who are already positioned on the sell side in $WEED and the others.

Comment: A rough day for pot stocks... -4.6% !!!
Most people don't like to be told what to do or how to feel. I think you must take this into account. Personally I don't like it, when I was younger sure, but we grow out of this shit. I guess some don't. But I still think that you don't want to be told what to do no matter your age. Bring in medicine companies who charge you 1000% + on stuff. mmh.

I see your point @amutt. In general I am not opposed to the concept. You may want to look at it from the perspective of the problem government face is not wanting another tobacco on their hands. If our governments want to regulate health products (which they do) there is a slippery slope with marijuana as there has not been a robust clinical understanding... From the angle of it being good for pain, when double blind placebo controlled studies (randomised clinical trials) prove that it works for pain, better than what we currently have (Zofran, Fentanyl and etc). There is no doubt that it would fail against these and without understanding the effectiveness by comparing it to other drugs and developing a framework users cannot understand what they are getting into.
