● Amazon is the king of e-commerce. It continues to benefit from ongoing lockdowns and a fundamental shift
in how consumers shop. Amazon’s Prime Day is an annual 48-hour retail event where Amazon Prime members
can get deals on laptops, TVs, smartphones, wearables, and more.
● This year’s Prime Day will start 1 minute after midnight on October 13th, 2020.
● Amazon’s Prime Day Sales grow every year. In 2017 they were $2.41 billion, and in 2018 they were $4.19
billion, in 2019 their sales were $7.19 billion. This year’s Prime Day is projected to generate approximately $9
billion in sales.
● Amazon’s Q3 results are tentatively expected on October 23rd, 2020 after the American market closes. The
consensus estimate is that they will report adjusted earnings of $10.99 per share and that revenue will be
$81.22 billion.
● Amazon’s earnings figures have exceeded the consensus forecast 6 of the last 8 times.
