I was just watching Tony Robbins on Netflix where he was being documented for his Date with Destiny in 2014. It was incredible. Though I am not there physically, I can share this man's passion, love and energy even sitting in front of my TV. He is truly a gift of God !
And towards the 2nd last day, the theme was "Stay in your head and you are dead"! He mentioned that we should write down our goals , mission and not just writing it down in pictures and words but also and more importantly to feel deep inside of us that it truly means something to us !
I map this across trading and investment and feel it works the same as well.
Unlike a trip , a journey comes with surprises and we have to deal with it as it comes even though we may never be 100% prepared for it. But in our weakness and failure, we find growth and this experience shaped us and mould our characters to be stronger.
Given time, we can take this pillar of experience and help others who are going through the same as we did in the past.
There will be days where we have losses, may be even on consecutive days. Or on days where we can't seem to find a good trading opportunity. I did recently as I witnessed how one of my portfolio in the red. That is why IT IS IMPORTANT that prior to even hit the enter button to buy or sell, we must first satisfy the reasons for going long or short.
Everyone has a different strategy and time line. What works for others may or may not works for you. Try out a few different ones and explore into the interesting facets of trading and investment. You wouldn't know the outcome till you experiment it.
Some said to long EURUSD, others said to short it. They could both be right , depending on the time frame that they are looking at. Others are more hesitant and wants a margin of safety and prefer to wait for more confirmation. It is good that you know your own profile so you can place your risks accordingly.
Is your trading and investment geared towards retirement, funding for your chidlren's education, a new house downpayment, etc ? Each goal has a different time frame and your own allocated capital. Thus, what you choose, when you purchase it and the timing of the industry growth ,etc will determine your rates of returns.
Like those who came late into the cryptocurrency when it was near 20,000 mark and had they bought it , they probably would still be suffering paper losses. This is a cycle where sectors rotate much like the moon and the sun. Certain hours of the day , it will be the hottest and other times, it will be cooler.

That could be the reset button to start our lives afresh. It is never too late to start no matter how old you think you are.
Let not the negativity, past hurt, emotions, abuses, material losses in your past stay in your head. Like Tony said, problems in our lives is a GIFT. We are to conquer them so that we can learn from it and then use this newfound strength to help more people and make this place a more liveable , exciting and beautiful place.
