1. During London session, GBP has tremendous energy or rather, tremendous volume that gives the currency good gains..
2. During New York session, there's enough volume for the USD to overwhelm the GBP and literally wipe out most if not all the London session gains.
This happens 80% of the time when the GBPUSD pair buys during London session and during New York session, sellers take over the pair and send it sinking to the ground.
