1.) Short sellers on the way back: Lufthansa has been one of the most heavily shorted stocks in Germany for many months. Many hedgefunds continue to bet that the airline will not succeed in recovering in a difficult market environment. In recent weeks, however, the short positions have been significantly reduced again. Whereas at the end of September the short ratio was still almost eleven percent, according to shortsell.nl it is now "only" 8.5 percent.
2.) Lufthansa places capital increase. LHA raises more than two billion euros in the course of a capital increase. The money raised will be used to repay state aid. State shares fall. Lufthansa wants to stand on its own two feet again.
3.) From the technical analysis, there are 2 things that give us hope. On the one hand, the significant downward trend was slightly interrupted in January 2021. On the other hand, we are close to a very strong support line (EUR 5.00). For patient traders, a buy limit order at this mark is well worth it.
