Textbook Definition Of A "Bull Trap"

Short
SP:SPX   S&P 500 Index
Trading in the S+P 500, just concluded today 4/21/22
was a "textbook" definition of a " bull trap"

Opening near the high of the day at 4507,
the trap laid was concocted on a "upside exhaustion breakout" at the OPEN

Incredibly, as the15 minute Chart included here shows,
that breakout turned into a "false breakout", which technically is the most potently bearish pattern out there.

The bulls then spent the rest of the day, trying in vain to find a "buy the dip" bottom,
but the market in the "textbook" bull trap, simply kept falling away from them,
and putting them further and further in the hole.

It was not easy thing to watch. today's trading was rough on the believers.
Can you imagine what any kind of "crash" might feel like .?
Pay heed.

As I wrote in my last post here on Trading View
one needs to be very, very careful in trying to call a bottom in this market right now.
