Addressing recent spam concerns — our commitment to transparency & security

Apr 17, 2023

Update as of Aug 7th 2023

While our systems have shown no signs of a breach, it’s worth noting that, like many companies, we rely on third-party suppliers to deliver certain aspects of our value chain, including email marketing. Our investigation has led us to believe that the potential leak might be associated with one of these suppliers. As a result, we have taken proactive steps to replace some of our suppliers as a precautionary measure. This ensures that we further fortify our defenses against any potential future incidents.

We have collaborated closely with regulators throughout this process, ensuring that our approach is thorough, transparent, and in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant privacy regulations.

Recently, some of our users have reported experiencing an increase in the amount of spam they receive. As a company that values transparency, security and the trust of our users, we want to keep you informed about the situation and emphasize the limited impact of this issue.

Out of our 50 million+ registered users, approximately 250 have reported an increase in spam. While this represents a tiny fraction of our user base, we want to assure you that we take these reports very seriously. Although we are still in the process of investigating the issue, we have found a high likelihood that an email leak might have occurred. However, based on our findings so far, no personal information has been impacted other than email addresses. This means that your payment details, sensitive data, and other personal information, as well as your charts and indicators, remain secure.

We are working closely with our partners and service providers as well as conducting a thorough internal investigation to identify the cause of this potential email leak and implement necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Although the impact appears to be limited, we encourage all users to remain vigilant when receiving emails from unfamiliar addresses. Please report any suspicious emails to our dedicated support team via the Help Centre.

We are dedicated to upholding the highest data protection standards in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant privacy regulations. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep you updated on our progress and any findings that emerge from our investigation.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your understanding. Your trust in our platform is paramount, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure your online experience remains safe and enjoyable.
