Drawings synchronization across all layouts

Aug 1, 2023

We have significantly improved the synchronization mechanism for drawing objects: optimized it and added the long-awaited feature of synchronizing drawing objects across all your layouts. All the new improvements are now available to users with paid plans. Let’s get into more detail and take a look at the changes.

As you know, drawings can be synced across several charts of one layout. Now, however, you can also sync them across all your layouts, so that you can see your drawings wherever you’re working at the moment. The new mode can be found on the left toolbar, just click the globe icon and choose the sync option you need:

The option “New drawings will sync globally” will synchronize all of the newly-added drawing objects, but you can also sync specific drawings by clicking Sync globally in their context menu:

The button for selecting the synchronization mode for new objects is now always available on the left toolbar, even if you have only one chart open — the objects will be automatically synchronized across new or previously saved charts.

We’ve also changed the logic of working with object groups. Groups are now also synchronized in the same way as the objects themselves. A group created in sync mode will appear on all charts with this symbol. You can now only group objects with the same synchronization mode. When you change the group’s mode, it’s applied to all objects in the group.

Note that if an object’s sync mode is different from that of the group’s, the object automatically adopts the group’s sync mode.

We hope these changes will make working with charts more convenient.
