Buying the SPAC VACQ here rocket labs merger (depending on the open price today). Breakaway gap in play here.

This is a buy and hold not a short term trade. I like the sector and the company fundamentals.

Rocket Lab to Trade Publicly Upon Merger With Vector Acquisition
Rocket Lab USA Inc. will trade publicly upon execution of a merger deal announced Monday with Vector Acquisition Corp (VACQ).

The closing of the transaction will see Vector changing its name to Rocket Lab USA, and the combined company will trade on Nasdaq Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RKLB.

Rocket Lab's Neutron rocket buildout, a reusable launch vehicle capable for deep space missions and human spaceflight, is expected to be funded by the deal. Proceeds are also earmarked for expansion in the space systems market, which will enable Rocket Lab's data delivery from space.

The deal reflects an implied pro forma enterprise value of $4.1 billion for Rocket Lab. Upon closing, about $750 million of pro forma cash balance is expected for the combined company.

Rocket Lab sees revenue of more than $1 billion in 2026, the company said.

The transaction is slated to close in Q2, subject to Vector's shareholders approval and other customary closing conditions.

Comment:

I am not yet in this trade (see comment above on depending on open price). The stock hasn't yet managed to extend further so the likelihood of a gap fill becomes greater. I'm on the sidelines waiting for something to happen before buying to see if I might get a better price.
