OTC symbols are now available for live trading

Oct 11, 2022

TradingView’s team is always hard at work to offer you the best trading prospects, and we’ve now made OTC trading available through our broker partners — TradeStation, Interactive Brokers and Alpaca. We hope you embrace this opportunity to diversify your investment portfolio, but please be aware of OTC specifics and associated risks.

Over-the-counter (OTC) is off-exchange trading, which allows small companies that don’t meet strict listing requirements or don’t want to pay exchange entry fees to find investors. OTC transactions happen through decentralized dealer networks, where brokers communicate directly with each other with the help of internal providers of volume and liquidity for OTC trading.

These types of stocks also carry several risk cases, such as outdated or misleading information about the company’s financial state and liquidity problems due to low volumes. Don’t worry, it’s still fully legit, but prepare your trades thoughtfully and be ready for high spreads that could mean your orders take longer to fill within a favorable price range.

OTC markets usually provide a wide variety of assets, and through TradingView you’re able to access stocks and ADRs. Our broker integrations let you trade a generous number of them: 400 symbols on Alpaca, 15,886 on TradeStation and 7,742 via Interactive Brokers. That includes securities not available on traditional exchanges, like debt securities, ADRs and micro-cap growth companies.

Weigh your risks, plan your moves and leap into trading with your preferred broker.
